Broomhay Take Control

Case Studies

Chester Diocese

The records of works done over the past 10 years to church buildings in Chester Diocese needed a complete re-organisation but it was a complicated task due to the exceptionally wide range of activities covered. It needed someone who was able to think about the task and bring some innovative thinking on how best to accomplish it, making use of information technology in place of the original paper-based processes. As well as understanding the often delicate legal aspects of the work, the person completing the task needed a high-level appreciation of what was required and then be able to get on with it, rather than needing constant supervision and guidance.

Pauline was able to do that, but she also brought along fresh thinking on how current administrative processes could be improved. She thought strategically about the task whilst being sensitive to the differing needs and abilities of other people involved with the Diocese.

Paul Broadhurst, Director of Property for the Diocese of Chester, said;

"Pauline provided a truly outstanding level of support. As a self-starter, she was soon able to take on more responsibility and was always flexible and adaptable. She played a major role in helping to transform the way the office operated, using her exceptional levels of initiative and supporting her colleagues throughout a period of very considerable change. She was always busy, thoughtful and full of ideas."

UKFast.Net Ltd

The role of PA support is a vital job in managing an organisation. It ensures that senior staff are freed up to do what they do best. But it's not just the PA who needs training and support, it's the person being supported. Both parties need to learn how to make the most out of the arrangement.

Broomhay put together a package of training and mentoring support for UKFast, a website and IT hosting company. This allowed UKFast to quickly become more efficient by using PA support and can also call on Broomhay whenever they wish for ongoing guidance. Training is needed to develop the skills, but mentoring is essential to prevent the lessons from being forgotten and to ensure that maximum benefit is obtained.

Rachael Thompson from UKFast said;

" a company using PA support for the first time, Broomhay helped us to become more professional and gave structure to what we were doing. Pauline helped me to refresh skills that hadn't been used for a long time and devised ways of doing things that helped speed up the process of routine tasks, allowing me to focus on other things. Pauline is a lovely lady and I liked her traditional and professional approach."
